  GMC open letter to NHS managers
 
    The Chairman of the General Medical Council has joined with other
    chief medical officers to urge NHS managers and employers to fully
    support doctors undertaking advisory and support roles that will
    benefit healthcare systems across the UK. This includes medical
    education such as life support training.

    The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI)
    and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) have issued a statement
    in support of the above request.

  BHF campaign to promote hands-only CPR
 
    The British Heart Foundation has launched a national campaign
    to promote simple hands-only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR),
    including a video featuring Vinnie Jones. This is targeted at all lay
    persons who have not had CPR training.

  Defibrillation of patients with implanted neurostimulators

    This advice issued by the MHRA contains guidelines for the
    defibrillation of patients in cardiac arrest who have an active
    implanted (non-cardiac) device such as a neurostimulator.
