Sophie is a Consultant in Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care and the Associate Medical Director for leadership and professional affairs at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London. She has interests in education, training and leadership however her main interest is in resuscitation and the acutely unwell child. Sophie became a resuscitation instructor in 1998 on a PALS course, later converting to EPLS and in addition an APLS instructor. She joined the RC (UK) EPLS Subcommittee in 2009, was made Chair in 2012 and in 2016 re-named the course EPALS. She is committed to constantly improving the course to achieve the best outcomes for the acutely unwell child and infant. Sophie is Chair of the Resuscitation committee at GOSH and current deputy Chair of the Resuscitation section for the European Society of Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care. She was the PI for the in-hospital THAPCA trial at Great Ormond Street Hospital and currently participates in the international quality improvement collaborative PediResQ in conjunction with Children’s Hospital Philadelphia.
