Harry Walmsley was appointed Consultant Anaesthetist in Eastbourne in 1988 and Chair of the Trust’s Resuscitation committee in 1990. He was an Instructor on the first official RC (UK) ALS course which was run in Eastbourne in March 1994. He became an PALS/EPLS Instructor in 1995 and taught on and directed both ALS and EPLS until his retirement in 2015. Harry was elected to the Executive of the RC (UK) in 1999 and stayed on it until he stepped down in 2013, having also been Treasurer from 2001-2011. During this time he was involved in the writing of some of the national educational documents and had several presentations at Resuscitation meetings and publications in peer reviewed journals. In 2014 he was part of the 5-man team from his Trust who represented the UK in the resuscitation competition at the ERC meeting in Bilbao. He was delighted to be made an Honorary member in 2012.
