Vanessa McKinlay started her career as a Physiotherapist working in the NHS, specialising in neurological rehabilitation. After seven years she decided to change direction and pursue a career in law. She returned to University full time and was called to the Bar in 2000. Since then she has worked as a barrister at St. John’s Chambers in Bristol. In her early years in practice Vanessa completed a Masters Degree in Medical Law. She specialises in the law relating to all aspects of medical practice. She has developed and now leads the Clinical Negligence Practice Group in chambers. Vanessa became a Trustee of the Resuscitation Council (UK) in 2017.
