The participant
Ensure safety of rescuer and victim
Demonstrates assessment of safety
Check response
Demonstrates shaking and shouting
Open airway
Demonstrates head tilt and chin lift
Assess breathing
Demonstrates looking, listening, and feeling for normal breathing for no more than 10 seconds whilst maintaining head tilt / chin lift
Get help
Describes how to phone for the emergency services
Chest compressions
Demonstrates effective chest compressions (correct hand position, rate, and depth)
Rescue breaths
Demonstrates 2 effective rescue breaths sufficient to cause the chest to rise and fall as in normal breathing
Compression: ventilation ratio
Demonstrates 30 compressions to 2 breaths
Minimises interruptions in CPR
Demonstrates minimal interruption in chest compressions
Demonstrates correct order / sequence of actions
