Karl had been suffering with a sore chest for a week before seeking medical attention. He was quickly admitted to hospital and informed that he may have had a heart attack - a revelation that left him shocked. 18 hours later, Karl experienced a sudden cardiac arrest.

Natalie Jones, a midwife in the NHS, had completed her Resuscitation Council UK Immediate Life Support training just two weeks before her grandfather suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at her family home.

The National Cardiac Arrest Audit (NCAA) launches its 'Public Report 2022-23'. NCAA, created in 2009, is the national clinical audit of in-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK, and is a collaboration between the RCUK and the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC).

These new awards were established to recognise the contributions of impactful members of the resuscitation community, past and present. Recipients of these awards will receive a certificate, complimentary tickets to either RCUK’s Conference or Instructor Day, as well as being invited to sit as an observer on a subcommittee of their preference.

After six years, our Instructor Day will return on 16 May 2024. Taking place at the Vox in Birmingham, the Instructor Day will bring together instructors, instructor candidates (IC) and instructor potentials (IP) from across the UK for a day of learning and networking.  

Recent findings from the Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Outcomes Registry, funded by Resuscitation Council UK and British Heart Foundation, reveal a decrease in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates in England. 

Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) has launched new guidelines to help save lives across all community and professional sporting events.
