We call upon NHS England and Improvement to champion the use of the Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment (ReSPECT) process nationally.

RCUK is delighted that the Welsh Senedd has voted to pass the Curriculum and Assessment (Wales) Bill and that there is now commitment to lifesaving skills being taught in Welsh schools from 2022.

Several alternative methods to CPR have shown no benefit in saving lives in a review by University of Warwick researchers. The systematic review reinforces CPR as the ‘gold standard’ technique when someone is in cardiac arrest.
