Key changes to LMS
User profile
We've updated the profile fields to more closely align with the NHS dataset, including job role, grade, and speciality. This will help us gain greater insight into our candidates and instructors, enabling us to continue monitoring, improving, and developing our products and services. Information about how we use your personal data is available here.
User policy
We've updated the user policy to include information about multi-factor authentication (MFA), as well as the deletion of expired certificates and inactive accounts where there is no active course, membership, or course role (such as Instructor or Centre Administrator).
Marketing preferences
We've simplified the marketing preferences statement to make it clearer that this relates only to marketing communications from RCUK. If you are a course centre administrator or a faculty member (e.g. Instructor) and you choose to opt out of marketing, you'll still receive important communications about our services and LMS updates.
Please note that we cannot provide account support until you’ve accessed your account, updated your profile, and accepted the user policy.
LMS MFA (multi-factor authentication) enabled
To improve account security, all LMS users will be required to use 2-step verification. The default verification method is email, so all accounts must be registered with a valid email address.
Course Centre Administrators are responsible for creating candidates’ accounts and should avoid creating duplicate records. If a user no longer has access to the email address linked to their LMS account, they should contact the RCUK team.

Automated emails
The following email addresses are used for our automated emails, particularly those from the RCUK LMS, such as course enrolment emails. Please add these addresses to your allowed list and check your junk or spam folder if expected emails do not arrive.
