This document provides guidance for healthcare providers who are expected to deal with an anaphylactic reaction. It describes the recognition and treatment of an anaphylactic reaction  including the delivery of drugs for treatment.

This document has been annotated to highlight those areas which are covered by the latest clinical guidance from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)   [NICE Clinical Guideline 134, December 2011]. These annotations are listed at the bottom of the bookmarks panel for the document. Each annotation in the body of the document is a link to CG134 on the NICE website. The review date of 2013 has been extended to 2016.
