Get trained to Restart a Heart

Training events and resources to learn CPR

Events

Learn CPR by heading along to a Restart a Heart event this October! Click the drop-down menus below to see what training events are happening near you. As more events are confirmed we will advertise them here. 

Ambulance services across the UK are holding events both in-person and online (including livestreams and training sessions held via video conferencing apps.) To find out what your local ambulance service is doing for Restart a Heart, click ‘Ambulance Contacts’ below.

Restart a Heart Live

You can make the difference by joining Restart A Heart Live - a free live-streamed CPR event taking place on Wednesday 1 October 2025, 09:00 - 21:00, starting on the hour every hour. Building on the Guinness World Record success of last year this is now a UK-wide event.

Anyone can register to take part, and it’s a fun, accessible way for primary and secondary schools to get students of all ages learning this lifesaving skill. No equipment is required. All you need is a cushion, jacket in a bag or teddy and 25 minutes of your time.

Encourage your local school to take part by sending them a letter using our pre-written template.

Join this nationwide effort to get as many people trained in CPR as possible, helping our communities to look after one another.

Our lesson plan will help you ensure your students have the confidence and skill to identify a cardiac arrest and attempt to save a life with skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation.

St John Ambulance’s free resources and lesson plans have been developed to support teaching first aid as part of health education. The resources are organised in teaching pathways for Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and Key Stage 4, and outline a recommended order for teaching the different first aid topics to pupils.
