Intensivist

Joyce Yeung is an Honorary Consultant in Critical Care and a Professor in Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Warwick, UK. She leads the Emergency, Prehospital, Perioperative and Critical Care (EPPiC) Research group at Warwick Medical School. Joyce is the current chair of Immediate Life Support Subcommittee at RCUK and a Fellow of ERC. She sits on ILCOR Board as the Honorary Secretary and a member of its Scientific Advisory Committee.

Lead Resuscitation Practitioner

Catriona has worked continually in multiple clinical settings, notably general and cardiothoracic medicine, since 1994, with many roles involving a strong education element. She undertook her PGCE and MA in education whilst working as a lecturer practitioner in resuscitation with Oxford Brookes University. Bitten by the ‘Resuscitation’ bug, involved developing into both an ALS and EPALS instructor, and currently holding a Lead Resuscitation Practitioner role in a large teaching Trust. She has continued to work in Resuscitation at a local and national level, contributing to the ILS subcommittee and working as an educator for Resuscitation Council UK and Advanced Life Support Group since 2010. Recent activity has included implementing ReSPECT in her current role and working with patients and those close to them to begin the process of advance care planning. The ‘coolest’ thing Catriona has learned through her career is the importance of supporting learning through experiential and reflective approaches, ‘let them do it’ and then back it up by finding time to listen and talk to them about how it went.

Resuscitation Lead and Paramedic in NHS Ambulance Service

Emily is a paramedic and resuscitation officer with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, where she leads and supports resuscitation education, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives across the organisation. She is an active contributor to the resuscitation community, serving as an ILS subcommittee member, founding Co-Chair of England's Resuscitation Forum and a member of the European Resuscitation Council's Young ERC Committee, representing the UK paramedic profession and contributing to collaboration in research and education.  Emily is passionate about developing the future resuscitation community and uses her experience of working as a resuscitation officer both in-hospital and in the ambulance service to promote collaboration, with the aim to reduce health inequalities, increase the support offered to survivors and co-survivors, as well as striving to improve cardiac arrest outcomes.

Associate Professor, Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching, University of Stirling

Fiona has national and international experience as an adult nurse in critical care and surgical nursing. Moving to higher education in 2003, she has extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating health related curricula. Formerly the University of Stirling lead for skills and simulation, she is now an Associate Professor and the Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Health, Sport and Society at the University of Stirling. Fiona has a specialist interest in the recognition of deterioration and care of the acutely unwell adult with a proven track record of publications and presenting at national and international conferences. Research pertaining to clinical interventions has resulted in Research Excellence Framework standard publications over her career. Fiona has been an ALS instructor for over 15 years, a GIC educator for 4 years and is a member of the ILS Subcommittee and RCUK Education subcommittee.

Resuscitation Practitioner

Ian is a Registered Nurse and has been a Resuscitation Practitioner since 2016. He has a clinical background of tropical medicine and infectious diseases, acute medicine, and anaesthetics. He is passionate about the delivery of high quality healthcare education and instructs on a range of resuscitation courses as well as GIC. He is the current Secretary of the Welsh Resuscitation Forum.

Senior Resuscitation Officer

Keith has worked in the NHS since 1996, with experience in perioperative practice, education and critical care, and has worked in resuscitation since 2012. Keith has also been an RCUK instructor since the early 2000s and continues to teach across a range of RCUK courses. He currently works as a Senior Resuscitation Officer, where he support patients and staff during clinical emergencies, as well as delivering resuscitation training and simulation. Keith is also involved in patient safety projects and adult and clinical research. As a member of the ILS Subcommittee, he has contributed to the development of the ILS course, helping to ensure that ILS providers have the knowledge and confidence to recognise deterioration early, intervene appropriately and, hopefully, prevent cardiac arrests from happening.

Senior Lecturer - Nursing Simulation

Dr Mandy Chalk is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in resuscitation, primary care research, and healthcare education. Mandy has held senior clinical roles in both secondary and primary care, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care and education. In Mandy’s current role as a Senior Lecturer in university, she teaches across a wide spectrum of subjects within the pre-registration nursing programme and has particular interests in simulation, resuscitation, research, and evidence-based practice. Driven by a passion for improving outcomes through evidence-based care, Mandy continues to contribute to the advancement of nursing practice through academia. Mandy is particularly passionate about advancing the practice of resuscitation and is deeply committed to improving patient care through research and education. Her extensive nursing background reflects a lifelong dedication to clinical excellence, innovation, education, and the professional development of others within healthcare.

Resuscitation Officer/CCOT

Mary Murphy is a Resuscitation Officer within the Belfast Trust, a role she has held for many years. She also undertakes clinical shifts with the Critical Care Outreach Team, maintaining her clinical practice alongside her education and resuscitation responsibilities. Mary is an experienced GIC, ALS, EPLS, ILS and PILS instructor and is passionate about supporting high-quality resuscitation education and practice. She is pleased to contribute to the ILS subcommittee and to bring her experience and perspective to the development of ILS education.

Paul has been a Resuscitation Practitioner since 2011 with a background in acute, community and prehospital care. In NHS roles, he has worked across a number of specialities including medicine, palliative care and cardiology. He instructs and directs across a number of resuscitation, trauma and resilience courses together with the GIC. Maintaining a prehospital role, Paul has worked within fire services, search and rescue teams and HM Coastguard.

He has an interest in the development of the Resuscitation Practitioner role across all settings, and as Chair of the Resuscitation Practitioner's Forum (RPF), he oversees projects to enhance resuscitation practice and collaboration across the UK.

Anaesthetist

Dr Rosie Gosling is an anaesthetics trainee in South Wales. Her interests include resuscitation science and widening access to CPR. She is also a committee member of the RCUK Early Careers Forum.

Resuscitation Practitioner 

Stephen became a community resuscitation officer in 2001 and currently works as a resuscitation practitioner at the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, an integrated care organisation (ICO). Alongside managing ALS, ILS, NLS, and EPALS courses, I joined the ILS Subcommittee in 2012 representing primary and acute care, and I have remained an active member ever since.  Also, outside of Resuscitation is walking my dog  I rural Devon
