Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) is delighted to invite applications from teams of healthcare professionals to represent the UK at the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) CPR Competition.
The event takes place at ERC Congress - Resuscitation 2026, at Allianz MiCo, Milan, Italy, from 17 - 19 September 2026.
Now in its thirteenth year, the CPR competition brings together teams from across Europe and beyond to compete in paediatric and adult advanced life support scenarios for the prestigious title of ERC Resuscitation Champions 2026.
Teams must demonstrate excellence in clinical skill, teamwork, leadership, and real-time application of the 2025 Guidelines for resuscitation.
When is the competition and how does it work?
The competition will take place during Resuscitation 2026 and consists of two rounds:
- preliminary rounds (paediatric scenarios): Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2026
- final round (adult scenario): Saturday 19 September 2026.
Teams will be assessed by two independent judges on:
- adherence to ERC Guidelines
- quality of CPR
- non-technical skills (e.g. communication, leadership, teamwork).
The top three teams from the preliminary rounds will progress to the final.

Who can enter?
- Teams must include one team leader and up to four additional members.
- All members must be practising healthcare professionals (e.g. doctors, nurses, paramedics, or allied health professionals).
- Medical and allied healthcare students may apply if they regularly participate in resuscitation as part of their clinical practice.

Please note: RCUK are unable to cover Congress registration, travel, or accommodation costs. The selected team will be responsible for paying these expenses upfront. However, they will be eligible to receive a 10% reimbursement of the Congress registration fee from the ERC after the event.
