About
The Advanced Life Support (ALS) Subcommittee develops and maintains RCUK ALS courses, ensuring they reflect current national and international resuscitation guidelines and meet the needs of healthcare professionals across the UK. The group oversees course content, assessment and training standards, supports course centres, Course Directors and Instructors, and explores innovative approaches to advanced life support education. The subcommittee’s work helps advance high-quality training and supports healthcare professionals in delivering the best care to anyone that experiences a cardiac arrest.
"I'm privileged to work alongside an outstanding group of colleagues whose expertise, generously given, ensures that what we teach is grounded in the best evidence and works in real clinical practice. Seeing our collective work translate into better care and outcomes for patients is what makes it so rewarding."
Prof Jasmeet Soar, Chair of ALS subcommittee
